The local Aboriginals named this place Cavvanbah, meaning “meeting place”. Byron has a tradition of bringing people together. Travellers, locals, people from all kinds of backgrounds meet here. Quite a cosmopolitan for a small town region. We smell major opportunity to rethink Byron as a community of entrepreneurs.
But here’s where it gets really interesting. Byron Bay has has the highest density of creative industries outside of the state capitals. Her identity is firmly grounded in sustainability and ecology. Without the distractions of a fast-paced city life and armed with two airports just 30 minutes away, having access to Sydney and Brisbane in less than 2 hours. The perfect ingredients for innovation.
Take it from somebody who has been in business overseas: There are so many extraordinary minds with great ideas, this place is full of opportunities and major potential.
